DEADLINES!

Okay Jag Rag-ers, a couple of things to think about/respond to as we reach deadline day:
1. What is the hardest part of deadline time??
2. What ideas do you have for layouts?
3. Do you have pictures/graphics to go with your articles?? If not, you need to get some from your peers, Mr. Hunsucker or Keith Coward (sports). Remember, it is part of your grade!
4. Please let me know if you post your articles to Google docs.
5. Editors~please let me know if you check articles via Google docs.

Good luck!
All your hard work will pay off when we get the printed paper and pass it out!

The hardest part of deadline time is making sure everything is finished in time and things are prepared to layout. Layouts can be stressful, or a time to express your creativity. I try to contribute my ideas for layouts by encouraging layouts that really catch the readers eyes and draw them to things and articles we want them to see. It is important to also take your own pictures to go with your articles, even though there are pictures we could possibly use from other sources. Sports articles are the easiest to take pictures for while others can be a bit challenging, depending on what your article is on. Google docs has been a great way to share articles with the other members of the staff without printing out copies. It is also a way to contribute your helpful criticism and ideas at all hours of the day!

the hardest part of a deadline is if you are a procrastinator or if you come up with ideas at the last moment. My ideas for the layouts are we should kep it modern yet interesting...throw a little color in...make it a bit abstract...draw the readers attention in with different ways of laying out the actual article and its back-drop...dont stick to the usual boring black and white in column order. I do not like the google docs idea because it seems like a hassle when you can just turn in your article to be peer edited by one of the editors, then make the changes and resubmit.

I think the hardest part of deadline time is the stress of making sure your article is complete and put together so it can be edited and ready to be laid out. I think the layouts should be colorful and interesting, rather than just dull, boring and lifeless. We need to design it so it will grab peoples attention and make them want to pick it up. Google docs seems like a quick and easy way to send your articles to eachother for help, advice and criticism if you are stuck.

The hardest part of deadline time is making sure that you give yourself enough time to finish your article and still have time to make corrections. I think layouts should be creative enough to catch the reader's attention. Pictures along with your article can help interest the reader to read more. Google docs is a great way for all the members of the staff to share ideas and an efficient way to submit your articles.

The hardest part of deadline time is making sure your articles are finished and making the necessary changes before we start laying out the paper. I don't have any specific ideas about layouts, but I want the layouts to be eye-catching and original. I don't have pictures yet, but I'm going to ask friends that have taken pictures at the basketball games for them. I submitted my articles on Google docs, and Marlee read one of them on there before I printed it out.

I find the hardest thing about deadlines is making sure that you have your article or layout done. For layouts I’m trying to find pictures that will catch people’s attention that I can put in the background. I’m working on finding pictures right now.

The hardest part of deadline time is Making sure everything is done on time and dealing with any problems that indesign may have when trying to work on your page. I dont have any specific ideas for layouts for the paper. I think that the paper should be eye catching and make people want to read it. I took a picture for one article and got a picture from cancer services for the other.

The hardest part of deadline time is making sure you have everything you need for your article including pictures in order to start layouts. If everything is not together, it is hard to begin the layout process. I got swimming pictures from Keith Coward and Kristina gave me Eye Candy pictures. The layout process is a new experience for me but so far it has gone smoothly without many mishaps.

The hardest part of deadline time is making sure that everything is done correctly, on time and is at a high standard for the staff and readers. I've found the most difficult thing to be dealing with the obstacle of fitting everything onto the page in an orderly and legible manner. For layouts, using different shades, formats, and fonts for feature headlines are some things to really make the paper look good. Pictures were not able to fit with my Club Hoppin' article.

The hardest part about deadline is making sure your article is finished and is checked by the editors. I would layout the pages to where students would read the newspaper, and it would be catchy. You know I got pictures for my articles, without pictures the paper would be like a 1000 page book that you just don't wanna read (without pictures). And last but not least, I don't know if my google docs is working because, when I sign on, I have NOTHING in the documents part.. you know? So.. yeah :-)
